Do You Have An A-Team God Posse?

The “A” in A-Team stands for Ascended Masters, Archangels, Angelics, and Archetypes.

I have yet to encounter anyone who did not have at least two or three benevolent entities attending them. I refer to the entire, diverse, and individually variable group of spiritual beings that surround you as your God Posse. Within that group, the primary entities that assist you on your spiritual mission are personal guardian angels and spirit guides — which are not the same thing.

Who's Who in Your God Posse?

Guardian Angels Guard; Spirit Guides Guide
Angelics are non-human spiritual energies that guard and protect you; spirit guides are distinctly human beings — they have incarnated and walked the earth, perhaps multiple times, and have ascended to the functioning role of advisor or counselor, and are assigned to guide and assist your spiritual development.

When you seek to connect to your spirit guide, you are referring to what I call a Primary Guide — a once-living human soul whom you have contracted to attend you from birth. Everyone I have ever met, or at least Read for, has at the very least a personal guardian angel and a primary spirit guide. Usually more. The population fluctuates.

Your personal guardian angel(s) do not usually identify as separate from your energy. One of the more frustrating challenges for me was trying to get my guardian angels to tell me their names — if I asked “What is your name?” I would receive MY name as a response — “Slade.”

If you wish to communicate with your guardian angel(s) as separate entities — and I do benefit from defining and practicing the relationship in this way — YOU will have to name them. Willful Naming is still a process of discovery, but it is a matter of your sensitive, creative choice.

A spirit guide, on the other hand, will have his or her own identity, already distinct from yours, including a name, gender, ethnicity, and very much human personality. Your spirit guide will also generally hail from a specific time-period in Earth’s history and a geographical place. I would assume this to be his “last life” or the life he considers “most important” or “significant” or “formative” in some way. (Who knows? From our limited perspective the most formative lifetime of experience could’ve been the most difficult, challenging, or tragic…) It’s hard to say with absolute certainty, because I actually do not believe in mainstream, popular concepts of multiple lives, reincarnation, and old souls. I realize I am in a serious minority on this — even more so because some of the details of our understanding of reincarnation, multiple lives, karma, etc truly resonate with me, while others do not strike me as “quite right.” Still, the vast majority of believers alive on the planet at this moment agree about some form of reincarnation.

So, what is an A-Team God Posse?
The popular term “Lightworker” is the probably the best word for conjuring what I’m getting at. Chances are, if you’ve found Shift Your Spirits, read it on any kind of regular basis, subscribe to these articles, and have sent me an email expressing that I “read your mind” or that my words here ring true for you — often in ways you might say are serendipity, syncronicity, or some other more intense and down-right spooky phenomenon — you are probably a Lightworker.

In an older post I regurgitated Doreen Virtue’s checklist for helping you identify whether or not you might be a Lightworker. I’ve also written an overview of Why You Are Here that explains what you are experiencing by engaging me in this way, at this particular time, and in this virtual location.

I can tell you that if you are a Spiritual Blogger, a member of the online community I am proud to participate in and serve, you are definitely a Lightworker — and I would assume you have an A-Team God Posse, too.

While most individuals receive direct communication or intuitive information from a spirit guide, if you have an A-Team God Posse it indicates that you serve an Ascended Master, God/dess with greater consciouness intent and responsibility. You are also more likely to engage Archangels on a regular and on-going basis. An A-Team God Posse features benevolent spirit entities acting as guides who are not typically found in those roles. In other words, the God Posse who attends your entire mission has been reinforced, augmented, even replaced by different “species” or expressions of spirit than it might normally have been, had you not remembered, answered to, responded to, or committed your life to a more challenging level of leadership and responsibilty.

Generally, were I to connect for a Reading and discover Archies in attendance, it’s usually because you are under the temporary support and assistance of archangels — because of intense life circumstances. They may be intervening or working with you — even ON you — in answer to your own prayers for help. You probably have a tendency to seek out the most spiritual assistance and information from a variety of sources when faced with harrowing transformations — serious medical issues, or major emotional upheavals such as divorce or the death of a loved one, or simply difficult changes that require more energy than you feel you can muster, such as career transitions or relocations.

Sometimes though the presence of A-level entities is the brandmark of a Lightworker — you have been Called, and serve a more powerful entity with a longer history than your own, and possibly a distinct agenda, under God. (Everything and everyone I’m talking about here is under God — the “lesser” gods, goddesses, archetypes, ascended souls, saints — we are all individual expressions of One Source energy, in different packages and vessels. The One Creator expresses and experiences itself through an infinite variety of forms and modes.)

If you are a Lightworker, with an A-Team God Posse, it means that the degree to which you have been called to use your life in a specifically spiritual role is, indeed, a Calling. It’s not something you “kinda” do — you can’t ignore the Calling or shirk the responsibility once you have answered or confirmed the Call to serve — to express your Mission in an obvious spiritual, human context or arena or medium.

This commitment is so powerful and absolute, that no other “success” or endeavor will ever quite satisfy you. No job, amount of money, relationship, or project will fulfill you if it is given a priority position above your Calling. You will always feel that something is still missing — and until you engage your Calling consciously and intentionally, you will feel fretful, anxious, incomplete — you may even experience anything you attempt without a sense of powerful intention, anything that doesn’t reach out and serve others, to be All Wrong. Lesser — materialist or selfish — goals will probably tend to fall apart on you.

You continue to find yourself at dead ends, no matter how promising the outcome in the beginning, and no matter how much you apply your will and give it your best effort.

If you have an A-Team, as I describe it, it means that you have the ability, on this side, to remember where you came from and to retain some powerful link to the Other side. Imagine if you were launched into space, sent to the Moon or Mars, but when you got there, your communication link back to ground control was severed…

“Houston, we have a problem…” This is the state most people incarnate with and spend their lives operating under. We might call them “lost” or “clueless” or “misguided” or “spiritually destitute.” A Lightworker, on the other hand, has “made it” through to this third-dimensional experience with some powerful recollection of his mission — or more importantly, with an open channel.

With the power, with the knowledge, comes the responsibility to apply it. This only feels like a burden or a curse when you are resisting it — not integrating your Calling into your sense of purpose. Don’t stress out thinking this requires some grand scale project or effort on your part — don’t let the word MORE send you looking up — it’s often just a matter of looking AROUND — at the content and details of your life as you’re already living it. It’s more about relaxing your willful control and allowing your higher intent to come through. The better you become at allowing your purpose, and allowing the authentic, creative expression of the life you’re already living, the more it will happen, the easier it will be, and the grander the scale becomes.

The action steps required to practice your life purpose and fulfill your spiritual mission are nearly always much simpler than you presume. Whatever it is, you are already doing it. Those who love you and value your unique input already instinctively respond to what that is. You can’t see the forest for the trees, sometimes; to move to a better vantage point, look at your life from the perspective of another — not in judgment — just take stock of what people ask of you over and over again, the special something you provide in your own unique way — no matter what your job, your environment, or circumstance.

An A-Team Lightworker Assignment Is Tough
You may go through periods in your life where you can’t hear communication from your spirit guides clearly, or you may willfully deny or ignore the information you receive — because of free will, your spirit guides and guardian angels, your Higher Self, your God Posse have to respect the conditions you impose upon yourself and refrain from interrupting or intervening without your permission.

For most Lightworkers, the connection is confirmed very early in life, around the time that your individual identity is solidified — immediately following the earliest, initial stage of childhood development. This commonly occurs between the ages of four and six — with social integration and education stepping in to challenge, muffle, or confuse your inherent spiritual abilities. I’ve talked to countless Lightworkers throughout my lifetime who recall some intuitive experience, at a very early age, that they would call spiritually significant or religious.

Most neo-pagans, New Age mystics, self-professed shamans, or adopters of faiths that are contrary to their social background, education, and upbringing will recall a profound need to play or express their connections, at a very young age, without the benefit of obvious sources in their physical environment. This is not to discount the ministers, nuns, healers, and counselors who inherit a direct path — they may have chosen to be born into an environment laden with the necessary support. And, of course, some of us may have specifically chosen life situations and families that are more challenging. Much of this remains the Mystery you contracted to discover in the course of your lifetime.

Want an example of someone else we both know who I would call an A-Team assisted Lightworker? Jeff Lilly engages the god Apollo. And, trust me on this, Jeff hears, receives, and understands messages from Apollo with more accuracy than I could. Generally, I find that Lightworkers discover their own bosses, and do not require psychics or mediums to reveal this to them. Should an intuitive take a peek, they would merely confirm this, or perhaps connect to some other less dominant entities.

There is an impenetrable security surrounding Lightworkers who are consciously and intentionally engaged in their Calling.

Jeff’s connection to Apollo, to some degree, defies — or maybe a better word would be transcends – his chosen religious affiliation. This supports a pattern in the lives of so-called Lightworkers, as far as I perceive it.

My Kindergarten Confirmation
To give you another example, I was born into a family with virtually no specific social or religious features. I grew up in a community with absolute zero exposure to Catholicism — even the Christian influences just beyond my immediate family were predominantly Southern Baptist — yet I was obsessed from the age of four with the story of Joan of Arc and the Anunciation of the Virgin Mary. Jesus, I could take or leave — it was the clairaudient mechanism of Christian mystics and Marian Visionaries that I was drawn to. I wanted to dress up as a Catholic priest each and every Halloween from age 4 to age 29 (the year that I actually DID finally get to don that drag)…

I was aware of my Cherokee ancestry, which, along with the 1970s strain of feminist Goddess spirituality in my extended family, inspired my arrowhead collection and my discovery of earth mounds in the woods behind our little patch of suburbia in upper East Tennessee. I diligently rehearsed and practiced elaborate earth-based rituals when I was only five or six years old — building stone circles and henges that made me feel …powerfully consciousness.

The concept of white witchcraft (Wicca) didn’t enter my awareness until about the age of nine; but immediately and instinctually I recognized and self-identified with the word witch. Look at your own life for those details that you seemed to recognize more than discover as new. They provide important and literal clues.

As I have already discussed in an article about Why I Blog, my Calling is to serve the Mother Goddess — surprisingly, to me anyway, in the expression we know as the Christian Virgin Mary. I grow less and less shy about identifying myself as a Marian devotee and visionary. The point of this identity is that in my God Posse, where I normally might have a primary human spirit guide, that role is executed by angelics instead — my primary spirit guides are a pair of Thrones — a specific phylum of angel known as the Army of the Queen of Heaven. This assignment or placement was directly orchestrated by Mary, and was one of the most powerful spiritual shifts I have ever experienced. I was two months shy of my sixth birthday when Jane and DJ first stepped forward in my conscious awareness.

Now, of course, it took me almost three decades of worn-out faith and social distortion before I finally began to acknowledge them again with the literal simplicity that I did as a kid…

It is not uncommon for angelics to work in pairs. In my case, I am attended by Jane and her “sister” DJ. Angels have no specific gender, although they do tend to be associated in our perception as either more male or female. Many of the archangels in human history have male names and are artistically rendered with masculine attributes. For me, the Thrones tend to be Amazonian — bad-ass female-ish entities. Jane, who is extroverted and easy to engage in conversation, refers to DJ as a “sister” — I suppose for lack of a better gender-neutral descriptor in English.

But, this may confuse you a bit — I think of Jane and DJ as more like a pair of fraternal twins — a sister and a brother. I associate some hard-to-pin-down Something about DJ as being the yang to Jane’s yin. Jane is chatty, friendly, girly, and out-going; DJ is introverted, intimidating, vocally silent, and intensely focused on more specialized, mechanical concerns.

I call him DJ for two main reasons:

  • unlike Jane, who stands behind me, DJ is in a seated or kneeling position, bowed over some type of control panel, deeply engaged in a level of information that I can’t process without Jane’s translation or assistance. I picture him wearing headphones, and operating some type of laptop keyboard or mixing station, like a sound engineer or… a DJ.
  • DJ communicates with me in snatches of music and lyrics, usually sampled from my memory.

I have learned to interpret the random loops of songs that come into my consciousness — especially those I wake up to — as literal messages from DJ.

While Jane acts as more of a guide or advisor — my spiritual Mouthpiece — DJ is something more of an Operations Manager — he monitors my silver cord — my direct etheric connection to Source energy. He is totally engrossed at all times with maintenance of my physical body and life force. Physical exercise — particularly yoga — focuses my attention on DJ.

If you look at the graphics I included in my last article, Visualizing the Invisible, you’ll see a simplified graphic depiction of my energy map, showing the position/relationship between DJ, Jane, and myself. According to my perception, DJ is actually the primary receiver of my messages from spirit — a language that is easiest to process as clairaudient music; Jane translates and interprets that information and shares it with me in conversational English.

There is a layer of information that sits somewhere between the music snatches and the chitchat — song lyrics. DJ attempts to graft recognizable words on top of the emotional, multisensory content inherent in music by employing lyrics that I then “read” as literal “telegrams.”

Next time a song seems to come out of nowhere and begins looping in your subconscious, stop and consider it as a possible form of intuitive information. This doesn’t sound particulary Psychic with a capital P… I’ve heard from you how difficult it is to receive messages from your guides, and when I point out this format, I often see a lightbulb go off in your eyes. Your attention shifts…

Maybe you ARE listening to your inner DJ all the time… And dismissing those Messages as something mundane, or common… So what if they are. Magic is found in the mundane. Your divinity is not supernatural; it’s supercommon.

When I read your post I instantly thought….
He is an eloquent writer. !

    Then I questioned myself…
‘Is that the appropriate word’, eloquent?

    Webster’s 1828 Dictionary confirmed
    that was the exact word.

    eloquent

1.Composed with elegance and spirit; elegant and animated

I also noticed a quote at the top of the Webster page that
was just perfect for this comment to you.

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

You know… I first came to your site for
    information about Spirit Guides.

    Thank you

Another expansive article, in many ways. Regardless, it’s made me want to go and meditate, so that is what I am off to do. Time to have a chat to my guides… angels… et al. I too have had trouble getting a name for the guidance I receive… so maybe it’s time I named THEM.
It’s all an experiment really, an exploration.
    Time to meet my God-Squad.
    joy and peace,

Again, Slade, timely, insightful information that I shall read and re-read in order to absorb every bit. This especially - “Next time a song seems to come out of nowhere and begins looping in your subconscious, stop and consider it as a possible form of intuitive information.” - is particularly intriguing. Music loops through my head almost constantly - always has. If I’ve given it any thought at all, I’ve assumed it was just a by-product of being a musician. I’ll pay more attention to what I’m really hearing now and listen for spiritual messages.

In light of this, permit me a little silliness. Today’s music loop is the currently popular country song, “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” Hmmmmmm….so I have spirits that are encouraging the life of a drunken stripper? ;)

Great Quote! I love it. Quotes are your forte, lady.

Lola, you are the second person this weekend to mention that song. Hmmmmm. IS this some sort of message from the universe?

Slade, you have done readings for me, so you’ve met some of my spirit guides. Still puzzling over that Nun. She doesn’t appear to me and I didn’t get the impression that I liked her very much. I’ll have to figure that out one of these days.

The Big Mother of my A-Team is the Morrighan. She comes to me a lot and speaks to me very directly (I blogged about this recently when she instructed me in no uncertain terms that I was to Remember Who I Am). I’ve always believed that there is some faery in me somewhere, but the Morrighan claimed me as one of hers, giving me black wings and introducing me to my crow sisters. My teacher told me that when a God or Goddess claims you that the relationship is a two-way street. Even though up to now the Morrighan has been offering me her support in times when I was in need, soon she will - I have no doubt - let me know what it is that I need to do to serve her.

I have other spirit guides who come to me on a regular basis. One is my grandmother. One is a woman who is an ancient Pictish ancestor, although she hasn’t told me her name yet.

As far as Angelics, well I’m not sure if you would count faeries in this category but faeries of all sorts come to me all the time. My crow sisters also do. And I seem to attract birds, although they don’t necessarily say things to me that I can understand.

I guess I would say I’m a pretty lucky woman to have such a populous and varied God Posse.

One thing is certain, I won’t think of earworms in quite the same way again!

Many blessings to you, my dear friend.

  6. Lola on May 28th, 2007 4:23 pm

LOL, A-E, perhaps the Universe wants us to loosen up a bit? I found it to be a funny, little synchronicity since I woke up with that song in my head then checked my email and there was this entry from Slade. (For the record, I did not spend the day tossing back tequila shots!)

As I’ve mentioned to Slade, I’m a neophyte in communicating with my spirits. Just learning to really hear and listen. So it’s encouraging and enlightening to hear your experiences as well. Thanks for that.

  7. Slade on May 28th, 2007 8:24 pm

    AE,

Fascinating to hear about Morrighan. My interaction with your guides is a good example of Reading someone with an A-Team — your Nun is a flunkie (no offense to her) but she doesn’t occupy a position of great significance in your highest mission.

As for faeries, I do consider the fey a distinctly different species of entity (personally) although depending on culture or individual perception, elementals are very similar to angelics in a lot of ways.

Given the significance of Earth in your chart, the elementals totally make sense. Not only are they often referred to as “earth angels” faeries and elementals bring balance to your chart in the form of Air.

I am struck by this wisdom of the Two-Way Street — I certainly feel blessed and empowered to call on the Goddess and her Thrones — I benefit from their influence on a daily basis. Jeff Lilly has also expressed similar, elevated benefits in his relationship with Apollo.

I guess, as in all relationships, there is some symbiosis taking place, huh? I certainly don’t want to give anyone the impression that we are “slaves” to the entities who engage us — NOTHING of the sort. I feel they serve our individual missions as part of their own. It might be best to think of it as being part of a “family.”

You can’t “divorce” your blood. You can’t divorce your spirit, either.

  8. Slade on May 28th, 2007 8:30 pm

    KL,

I TOTALLY whole-heartedly encourage you to connect with your guides — the detail and information you will receive from them — that a psychic can’t — has an Emotional component that only you can fully experience.

Girl, I know you are part of something enormous, too! Your energy is the tip of something huge, poking its nose through a window into this space, a doorway called You. The light that’s spilling through that crack is so bright and so beautiful. I bask in it everytime I read your words.

I bet your view into Source is wild. I’d love to know who and what is just behind it. But I am also content to witness your revelations, and the way you share is so purely you…

Your voice and your light is gorgeous, sister!

  9. Slade on May 28th, 2007 8:41 pm

    Lola,

I’m glad someone else beat me to the interpretation of your song loop — as I am not familiar with this song, and your sharing this tidbit helped identify a synchronicity for others.

I was going to suggest, when interpreting these lyrical messages, sometimes it helps me to ignore the artist, and strip out everything but the literal words present in the snip that’s running around in your head.

For me, it’s usually a line or two, over and over again. It’s also in keeping with something greater than I describe here — the response we have to “catchy” tunes, on so many levels. Even the ones that annoy the hell out of us conjure Something. They work, for some magical reason and in a way only music can.

What I do with these snatches of song is literally identify the exact words, and riddle through their context or significance, much as you might a dream symbol.

What question are you gnawing on that THAT song addresses or answers?

And, one thing I haven’t stressed near enough — there is an amazing sense of HUMOR at work here. It’s not all doom and gloom and serious hardcore religious direction here — we have Joy Guides too, easily overlooked, who are charged with keeping us connected to the simple yet powerful present moment — free of Big Stuff.

There is no spiritual power like laughter. Your inner child and your silliness — even your capacity to stick your tongue out at the world or give it the finger once in awhile — these are all significant expressions of everything you are.

My guides DO have a sense of humor — and you know what? THANK GOD they do, or I’d be a brooding, cloak-wearing, joy-free wet blanket of judgement and misplaced energy.

  10. Angela-Eloise on May 28th, 2007 9:31 pm

Lola, the universe knows that this sister needs to get LAID! So maybe a bit of tequila is in order. If you are ever in Boston, give me a call. I can tell that you are just the kind of groovy girl that I would like to hang with.

And Slade, I know that the spirits have a huge sense of humor. Sometimes one of the things that they do for us best is remind us that we should. I just spent a lot of time inviting JOY into my home and the door is open for the smiling faces of those Joy Guides.

I’ve done some shamanic work and one of the things that I’ve really wanted to do since I completed my studies is to undertake a shamanic journey in service of another person, to contact his or her spirit guides. I was taught that we all have spirit guides even if we have never been aware of them, and one of the roles of the shaman is to help our “clients” get in touch with theirs. Alas, this is something for which the client needs to be physically present, but I say again, if you are in Boston …

  11. Slade on May 28th, 2007 9:51 pm

    AE,

Getting Laid — I definitely have guides for that. Satyrs, actually…

  12. Lola on May 29th, 2007 2:45 am

There’s gettin’ laid guides??? Damn. I need to have a talk with them…

Angela - Definitely on the Boston thing! Likewise if you’re ever in the Dallas area.

And about joy? That’s HUGE for me. My mission, in fact. I allowed so much of my joy to get sucked up in drama and trauma for so many years. I’m trying to get little Lola back. That little girl that danced and skipped and laughed through every encounter - absolutely thrilled with life. She’s the real me.

  13. Jonah on May 29th, 2007 5:04 pm

    You are all so funny.

    Slade,

I hate to sound like a broken record here, but… damn, boy! You hit a bunch of things that I’ve been thinking about lately.

Yesterday I woke up and while I was sitting around a lullaby slowly built up just beneath my level of awareness. Eventually it broke through and I realized that it had been there for several minutes. I asked my guides if they wanted me to go back to bed, and they said yes. I was unable to sleep again, so I just waited. After a few moments, several of my guides were around me, along with a spirit I had never met who worked a healing on me and gave me some interesting symbols to meditate on.

Then, today, I read this so I thought I would share my experience as a kind of testimonial to this process of listening to the songs that seem to pop up without stimulus.

    Thanks again,
    Jonah

P.S. I LOVE the picture on this post!

  14. Slade on May 29th, 2007 6:16 pm

    Thanks Jonah!

Just for the record — yes, punny, ha ha — I refer to this phenomenon of being haunted by messages in the form of songs as being Tunestruck.

The image on this post is a photo from some Gathering or other, layered in Photoshop with one of my many waterdrop photos. I appreciate the encouraging response about the imagery as I’m pushing myself to include more of my own altered photography and digital illustrations.

  15. Sarah on May 31st, 2007 2:38 pm

Hello. I’m new to this excellent, eloquent blog as a reader and commenter. For the past few days I’ve been mulling over the significance of song snippets that spool through my head when I’m meditating under trees. And then *magic wand twinkle noise* I stumble upon the above post!

The Oaks, or Whomever, seem to be fond of communicating with me via pop classics such as: “open your heart and I’ll make you love me, it’s not that hard, if you just turn the key”. Highly amusing.

I have not heard the drink-liquor-go-frolic messages, alas. Keeping my ears open . . . for songs about mint juleps and of course for more fantastic posts here.

  16. Slade on May 31st, 2007 3:48 pm

    Welcome, Sarah!

I am excited to see the response to this concept — I should’ve written a post about this particular form of clairaudience. (Actually, I think I have an article from a former email newsletter incarnation… I’ll look for it.)

I realize that this is a perfect example of the shift in perspective that is required when listening for and interpreting another level of consciousness, information, guidance…

Shifting to a conscious position of watching and witnessing your thoughts is essential — much of what is bubbling around in there gets dismissed as “just thinking.” It doesn’t all originate in the mind, it gets installed externally, or it has a source — but what we do with it once it resurfaces is important.

This truly is a form of clairaudience — or, at least, you must ask the question “is it?” This Tunestruck (TM) phenomenon is something that a lot of people can relate to — perhaps this is the big Gateway I’ve been dancing around in trying to find a way to lead people back toward how to reconsider the valuable, intuitive information they are constantly receiving and processing — usually, discounting or ignoring…

Now, for the record — not ALL my joy guides are hedonistic satyrs — most of my joy guides like to do it in bookstores.

They like to hunt for information, they love a good story, they love driving while listening to music, they love snuggling with a kitty, they love to hike and scout for fairies, and they absolutely ADORE a killer gourmet cup of joe…

    : )

  17. Lola on May 31st, 2007 3:56 pm

I love, love, love having this new perspective on music and have been so aware this week of what’s going on in my head.

This morning I keep singing “Blue Moon.” And what do you know? Tonight is a blue moon. :) Tonight I shall be absorbing the light and listening carefully for what my guides have to say.

  18. Slade on May 31st, 2007 4:07 pm

    Lola,

I’m hearing the Cowboy Junkies’ version of Blue Moon now… Which brings up an interesting additional consideration — when processing a song that has multiple versions — is there a significance to which artist it is?

Hmmm… Yesterday, NPR was running stories about the misnomer Blue Moon and how it came about. They played Elvis, they played jazz instrumental interpretations, even some other oldies version.. Yet when you mentioned it, the Cowboy Junkies still leapt forward, and I haven’t actually listened to that track in years…

Incidentally, does anyone know of any astrological significance for THIS double-moon today? Not blue moons in general, but what sign is this working? Cancer?

  19. Lola on May 31st, 2007 5:56 pm

mmmmmm….Cowboy Junkies…**trots out to car to see if her CD is there**

I like the consideration of multiple song versions but made the leap to variance in musical styles rather than different artists (which, of course, sometimes means the same thing. Other times not). I think it stands to reason that the style of music would influence the message. So what significance can be placed on the style of the music we’re hearing? Off the top of my head here -

Classical - guidance to approach your Tunestruck message in a traditional, measured manner.
Jazz - be truly unique and individual.
Gospel/R&B - pour your heart into it.
Metal - put some power into your actions.
Alternative - try a new way of looking at it.
Blues - consider a soulful, raw approach. Expose yourself…

I’m going to have fun with this!

Hi, just found your blog today after googling about the pink moon yesterday. Last night the moon in Toronto looked pink (could just be the smog) not blue. But I am so grateful to have found you! I am in a bit of a roadway as of late, unsure of which path to follow in my life. After reading your entry on the A-Team I was moved to drop a few tears, as so much deeply resonated within me and was just what I needed to hear, and probably what my guides have been hollering at me.
I am an aware person who has felt that I have touched my true spiritual essence a few years ago but since moving back to the big city huge parts of me have been missing. I have been trying to figure out what “career” path I need to follow. How do I fit into this world? After trying numerous things and nothing panning out (round peg, square hole) and knowing that the universe knows exactly what we need, I have been truly puzzled and concerned that I am missing what I am supposed to be doing. Meanwhile while trying to fit into the linear world, folks around me as you mention in the post come to me for spiritual advice. Whether it be dream intrepretation, tarot reading, astrological alignments I am the new-age go to it girl in my circle. Time to stop denying it and own who I am.
also the song clairaudience topic; broke up again with bfriend last night and the song that came to me later that night was the Gambler : you got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em….” EXCELLENT!
Many blessings, much love and gratitude to you!

    Genevieve (gorgeous name!)

I’m so glad you found us. I have another song message for you, to reinforce The Gambler:

“It’s sad to belong to someone else when the right one comes along.”

Slade, this Blue Moon is in Sagittarius. My favorite astrology site, Cafe Astrology has this to say about it:

“On Thursday, the Full Moon occurs, when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon approximately two weeks ago. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the ‘lower mind’ and Sagittarius represents the ‘higher mind’. The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to intuit, and to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the ‘here and now’. Gemini is quite comfortable in his or her immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and our sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.”

    Oh, and one other thing…

What does it mean when you are Tunestruck with the wrong words? The first line of a Patty Griffin song has been popping into my head on a frequent basis over the past few days, but instead of hearing the real words (Light it up, baby), I’ve been hearing “Wind in up, baby.” Hm. Wind up what exactly?

  24. Slade on May 31st, 2007 9:43 pm

    A-E,

Thank you so much for the astrological information — I am on a strict astro-diet right now (I’ll explain another time what that means…)

Your explanation and having it posted here is a big plus, in my book, anyway.

You and Jeff both have such a nice handle on Astrology — I’ll gladly sit back and let you advise me!

  25. Slade on May 31st, 2007 9:46 pm

About the wrong words — I’m guessing you asked rhetorically, to point out the significance of that variation.

For anyone who wonders, I would pay extra attention to the changes your consciousness has imposed on the lyrics — and possibility, the difference itself, between the original and the adaptation, should be a sign of direction or the type of change some area of your life could use.

    Yes?

I continue to be astonished at the incredible relevance of songs stuck in my head. To think I’ve been getting messages like this all my life and am just now REALLY getting it! I’m finding that nearly every morning delivers a Tunestruck message and that the music I hear is a pretty good indication of what’s been going on in my dream world. I don’t easily remember dreams but have been getting excellent clues from the musical score.

Just from the past week -

I had an evening of “poor, poor pitiful me” in which I allowed myself to become engulfed with sadness over a lost love. Missing all the good parts with convenient amnesia over all the not-so-good. As I went to bed, I asked for some “get him outta my head” assistance and woke up the next morning singing this:

    I ain’t settlin’
    For just gettin’ by
    I’ve had enough so-so
For the rest of my life
    Tired of shootin’ too low
    So raise the bar high
Just enough ain’t enough this time
I ain’t settlin’ for anything less than everything.

On another day, niggling fears what might happen if I step out of my comfort zone and do something new and risky prompted this:

Dont you worry bout a thing
Dont you worry bout a thing, mama
Cause Ill be standing on the side
    When you check it out…
When you get off… your trip

    Everybody needs a change
A chance to check out the new
But you’re the only one to see
The changes you take yourself through but

Dont you worry bout a thing
Dont you worry bout a thing, pretty mama
Cause Ill be standing in the wings
    When you check it out

Dont you worry bout a thing

And finally, recent concern over my dad’s health likely prompted last night’s dream of his death. Yet I awoke this morning humming, “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” which has me feeling optimistic and thankful for my dad rather than sad and fearful of what may be coming.

    That’s just too cool, Lola!

I swear, for the past few months, every single time I get up from a nap or a sleep I have the same tune in my head: “Robin and Marian” by Nickel Creek. It’s an acoustic, very medieval sounding tune, with no words. I have NO IDEA what the significance is, but it must be important, because I keep getting it AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN…

  28. Lola on July 10th, 2007 11:36 am

Jeff - you came to my mind over the weekend. I was shopping for a windchime and found one named “Chimes of Apollo.” It had a deep, melodious sound. I thought - this is Jeff’s guide put to music! :)

  29. Jeff | Druid Journal on July 10th, 2007 3:40 pm

Awesome! I wish I’d heard it.

  30. Julie on November 18th, 2007 4:53 am

This music thing happens to me all the freakin’ time!!! Especially in the morning after waking. Sometimes I let my “logic demons” talk me out of the significance, but not anymore! Going to start a seperate lyric journal next time it happens.

    Love & Light

  31. Lola on December 30th, 2007 3:53 pm

What do you make of this -

I woke up this morning with a TUNE stuck in my head. No lyrics, just the melody. And it’s a song I’ve never heard before - at least not that I consciously recall.

    ???

  32. Slade | Shift Your Spirits on December 30th, 2007 5:38 pm

    Lola,

    I get those tunes, too!

How can you interpret them? Hmm…

I imagine that a composer or musician could bring them through in some kind of physical, creative production. I’ve heard that musically gifted people hear music clairaudiently.

For me, personally, these seem to be some kind of Theme Song or Overture that describe transits or events, much as a kind of internal score. Wait and see how long the music stays with you or if it keeps coming back.

Usually, the lyrical Tunestruck phenomena are short-lived — lasting only part of a day; while these wordless pieces seem to come in and out for months.

If you had to write a scene from life, as if it were a movie, what kind of event would this tune portend or decorate?

  33. Lola on December 30th, 2007 5:49 pm

The picture (movie) I’m seeing along with this tune is an Oklahoma!-esque dance production. Square-dancy, toe-tapping, exuberant, lilting music. Very happy feeling stuff.

I did have the thought that if I were a true musician (not just a singer) I could create an entire song from this snippet.

I’ll pay attention to how long it stays with me.

Interesting that I met a songwriter / musician last week who I have a funny feeling is going to turn out to be - ummm - instrumental in some fashion in my life.

[...] Yes and No — My answer is a little complicated Over the past few years, I’ve encountered this phenomenon (especially among lightworkers) with greater and greater frequency. In May 2007, I wrote a post about what I described as an A-team God Posse, but that was almost a year — and many, many readings — ago. For about six months or so, I’ve been offering an updated, more developed, explanation on a case-by-case basis; I feel it’s time I put it out there for those of you who are wondering about this… [...]
