Why Not You?

You are humanity evolved — why wouldn’t God communicate with you?

Do you believe in the existence of a higher power, a divine originator, a universal intelligent designer, a creator, a God?

Do you believe in the presence of spirits — ghosts, guides, guardian angels? Do you believe that there are unseen and benevolent forces at work in your life? Do you feel them?

If you believe these entities indeed exist and have the power to communicate with people living in this earthly plane — if you believe that there are people who can perceive, receive, and express this information — why wouldn’t you be one of them?

Do you believe in the miracles recorded throughout human history? Do you believe that there are mystics and prophets in the past who have channeled and revealed divine wisdom, and that some of these messages made it into what we now call sacred texts?

Do you believe such divine communication happened hundreds or even thousands of years ago but — what? — it’s never going to happen again?

Do you think ancient peoples had access to something you’re missing? Do you think people who struggled for mostly basic survival were more “special” somehow? Did they have more time, energy, or resources to expand beyond the human experience than you do? Were they simply more blessed than you, somehow?

No individual is more special than the whole; no single experience more important than another. So why not the other way around?

You have more:

  • power
  • education
  • abundance
  • awareness
  • experience
  • connectivity
  • interaction

You have more abilities to communicate on physical levels than has ever been known before. You are not missing anything — you have everything, plus amazing advances in resources.

You are humanity evolved. Why wouldn’t God speak to you?

Don’t limit your spirit with self-esteem — God has no self-esteem problem. You are the way by which God - Divine Consciousness - Creation expresses itself. God is a symphony of awareness held by all of us — speaking with each voice, looking out through each set of eyes. Your eyes.

If you want to see the face of God, look in the mirror. If you want to hear the voice of God… listen with the heart.

As my intuition develops, I find myself having more and more conversations with God. My sister thinks that I am crazy when I tell her about the conversations that I have with God. I just told my husband about some of the voices that I was hearing when I was in India. I told him, it is nothing to worry about. I am not crazy. I told him to just ask questions and then sit and be quiet and you will hear the answers.

Slade, thank you for writing this post. God is, indeed, trying to speak through each and everyone of us in unique ways. Some of us are paying attention. Some of us aren’t. The way of “speaking” may not be in hearing, it could be in feeling or seeing. All manner or avenues are being tried. Are we listening?

    In Spirit,
    Nneka

    Slade,
Sometimes it’s like your posts were meant for me. Although my intuition and my guides and just about every other sign I’ve gotten has been telling me to write this idea for a spiritual kind of book I’ve had floating around in my head I keep having trouble actually doing it. I just keep thinking who am I to think I can write this book. The one time someone told me that my writing is complete crap keeps running through my mind (even though it was the only time, and i’ve showed it to lots of people who said they liked it… well maybe they were just being polite). Plus there’s this little voice in my brain keeps popping up saying that all this spiritual stuff is just some kind of psychosis. I just feel like if I write this and no one likes it, it’ll just prove that this was all my imagination, and that would crush me.
But you’re right, divinity doesn’t have a self-esteem problem. I hope you won’t mind me taking the paragraph starting with “Don’t limit your spirit with self esteem” and put it on my wall or my background or something… to remind me.
Thanks so much for being out here. If I weren’t living hand to mouth I would shower you with money to show my appreciation, but for now, my words will have to do.

    Jen

    Patricia,

It is difficult to hear criticism or judgment from people you care about — family is not always the most likely source of understanding, as they are invested in your life in different ways.

I simply discuss what I discuss with those who are interested or initiate the conversation.

But sometimes I am surprised by someone like my Dad, who out of the blue will send me a story about his own experiences. I must say that these kinds of responses from friends and family are few and far between, and they’re very nice affirmations if you get them.

Best not to need that approval from anyone.

    Nneka,

You are very welcome! Indeed, the forms of communication from the Divine are unique to each individual — “hearing” can come from a combination of senses and experiences.

    Jen,

I’m thrilled that the post feels like it was written just for you — in a very real way, it was!
    :-)

How do I know? Because the “shining sentence” (about self-esteem) that you pulled out as an affirmation was not part of my original draft. Often, I am guided in a final edit to stick something in at the last minute. I used to question these tag-along messages or feel that they might sometimes be off-topic or extraneous in some way, but then I have learned through experience to trust my intuition and include them.

The intended recipient(s) — in this case you — will often come forward and let me know it was received.

It amazes and amuses me — definitely makes me smile when this happens… These messages are literally all over this blog, hidden like Easter Eggs, glaringly visible to me and to the person who most needs to hear them.

It’s a by-product of channeling and writing — mini intuitive Readings stuffed in the wrapper of a post like a special Golden Ticket… Pretty cool, huh?

    Slade,
That is really awesome. Doesn’t surprise me much since my guides sent me to your page when I was looking for guidance to my purpose and to re-affirm my connection to divine last spring. They seem to like you a lot :). That sort of outside, 3rd person confirmation helps a lot as well. It makes me more confident that this isn’t some figment of my imagination. I’ll work past the fear enough to start actually writing more than the base layout really soon (there was a hopefully in there, but no, I will). Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

    Jen,

I’ve carried over this topic, from the perspective of the writer/author, into a new post on Spiritual Blogging.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    Slade,
As always, a great post. I’ve always thought it crazy that it was perfectly acceptable to talk to God if you lived 2000 years ago …but if you talk to God today - and he actually talks back! - there’s something wrong with you. Who are we to NOT talk to God, and expect an answer? We are doing ourselves and humanity a disservice in not living our Divinity … okay, I’ll stop here before I rant on :-)

    Jen,
Speaking from the perspective of a brand-new author - write it!!! And feel free to email me if you need any help at all.

    Blessings,
    Andrea

Rant on, Sister! I’m with you…

What has always struck me was that vague, undefined “line” in “living your faith in polite society” — seems we’re told we’re supposed to connect with God… just not TOO much!

Indeed, it’s such a mixed message.

Maybe it comes down to that people are really, really afraid of th power that would be available to them if they admitted that they were connected to God at all times. Back to that being more afraid of success than we are of failure that Marianne Williamson talks about. Guess, what we/I really am a very powerful being in our/my own right as a child of God. I am going to make a point of continuing the conversations (in my head) that were started when I was in India. I challenge everyone reading this to start your own conversations.

Slade, isn’t it amazing the number that we’ve done on ourselves, with organized religion at the helm? Connect to God, yes. Have God connect to you - nope, sorry, you’re just not worthy …

Patricia, why not go further than “child of God” - why not “God.” Yes, the blasphemy alarms are going off!!! We had a whole discussion about owning our divinity on my blog a while back, so this just continues those thoughts for me …

    Blessings,
    Andrea

[...] You are the leader, here. God doesn’t have a self-esteem problem. Does the idea that you represent this kind of power make you uncomfortable? Responsibility is an imminent component of power — free will is an enormous responsibility. An even greater task is wielding power — acting as a true leader — with the highest intentions and for the greater good of all involved. [...]

I just discovered this website today and I love it! I have been working on communicate with Spirit for 15 years. I want to be a medium and help other people with readings…I have sat in a Spiritualist Church development circle all those years, read numerous books, went to Sedona and stood in the vortexes, had chakra opening sessions with an excellent healer, etc. etc. I have even channelled, and have a personal book of channelling with messages from Spirit to me. But my dilemma is, I am not able to bring channelled messages for others. My ultimate goal, to be a medium, is not coming. I ask literally every day for clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience, and tell Spirit that I can’t wait 15 more years to get it! Where am I going wrong?

    Hey Jan,

I’m so glad you found my blog.

Perhaps you should simply seek training. You can learn to work as a practicing professional intuitive. I whole-heartedly endorse and recommend my friend Andrea Hess’s Soul Realignment Practitioner Program.

You don’t have to have a particular level of psychic experience or training to develop these abilities and work with a structure system, BUT if you are called to do the work of a medium or professional intuitive consultant, then this program may be exactly what you’re looking for to bring all your experiences together.

I am a business partner/affiliate for the program, but as you can see, I don’t run ads for any other programs at the moment because there is literally nothing else quite like it in terms of value.

Check it out — Soul Realignment Professional Intuitive Development Program

Slade, thank you so much for the endorsement! I so appreciate it!

Jan - these skills are definitely yours to develop! I wasn’t able to channel and didn’t consider myself psychic until I took this type of training I now offer. Just the fact that you have the desire means that the ability is there! I hope you come and check it out!

    Blessings,
    Andrea

[...] First of all, I can guarantee you that everyone who has decided to write, to speak, to teach the material you look up to and learn from has this same programming. It doesn’t feel like it, because you are an audience to their products, not so much their process… The optimal words are choose, decide, and anyway.
