Turn Your Spiritual Mission into a Blogging Career
Your life purpose is not (necessarily) a job. You are already everything you’ve ever wanted to become; you fulfill your life purpose with every breath you take. Your mission is inevitable. You actually cannot fail at the mission of life.
When you say you want to discover your life purpose, what you’re really talking about is defining your spiritual contribution in the context of others, bringing it to the forefront of your intentions, and changing the scale at which you operate.
You already do what you do for everyone you meet in life. No matter how wrong your current job may seem, your life purpose still comes through you in that environment. You may be operating at a spiritual level unconsciously, or you may be fighting the flow, swimming upstream, working too hard to shine your light in a hostile context. There are better places to be who you are and to serve other people with your unique gifts; there are more appropriate vessels.
Your discomfort with your current career or life situation comes from scattering your energies. When you speak about finding your life purpose, having a job where you feel you’re making a difference, doing what you love, what you are really describing is a desire for the unique expression of your spirit to be in synch across the multiple roles you play in life.
You want your life to be your career, for that work to be rewarding, for the money you make to be the result of a meaningful contribution. I am, first and foremost, a writer, like you; but no matter what business you’re in, if you plan to be successful — to impact the world with your unique perspective, talent, and wisdom — then you must be a marketer, too.
My primary motivation was to find a way to make money from my writing:
“I just want to get paid for doing my art.â€
How many times, as artists with big dreams, have we heard ourselves and others say IT:
- “I don’t need to be rich.”
- “I just want to get paid for using my creative gifts.”
- “I just want my job to be my art.”
- “I just want my art to pay the bills.”
That’s the Dream Job, right?
That’s the Ultimate Goal — that’s the Supreme Answer.
So, the Big Question is HOW?
How do you do it?
How do you really get there — put your writing in a place in your life — in the world — in the lives of other people — where your published work becomes what you do for a living?
I was determined to answer this question for myself — once I found the answers I’ve honestly had a hard time keeping them to myself.
You are my friends — you are literally just like all the talented people I know who have everything it takes, who have no reason not to be doing exactly what I’m doing — writing, blogging, self-publishing, building an audience of readers and subscribers, leveraging your original creative ideas toward job opportunities and making money.
So here’s my short answer — here’s my How To, in a nutshell:
The easiest and most direct — incredibly doable — way I’ve found to get paid for being who you are and doing what you love — it’s incredibly simple, it will work in just about any scenario you can throw at it…
Teach Someone Else How To Do It.
That’s it.
You can change your life, and the lives of others, by sharing your knowledge, your wisdom, your experience — even from your mistakes and your heartaches — you can get paid just writing about — talking about — sharing the information you already have, details of the life you’ve already lived and are living.
You are already everything you’ve ever wanted to become. You fulfill your life purpose with every breath you take.
To turn your life into a spiritually motivated career, you need to package your unique experiences in an accessible, audience-focused message, and you need to reach as many people as possible.
The easiest, cheapest, most direct way to do this in the web-connected world is by writing and publishing your ideas with a blog.
Publishing — blogging — IS spiritual.
Spiritual missions are serious business.
