I was a web developer, email marketing consultant, and professional blogger for four years before starting Shift Your Spirits. Now, I share the same information I’ve been teaching business clients — the same strategies I’ve used to build a list of over 10,000 subscribers in two-and-a-half years — with other aspiring authors, self-improvement writers, and spiritually-focused bloggers.

My web marketing plan focuses on strategies that will work for even new and low-traffic blogs. You don’t have to be an A-list blogger or have a gazillion page views to create a powerful list of Subscribers, make a meaningful impact, or even generate income from your blogging.

Google Ads are an ugly interruption to your original content — high-traffic ad-based revenue is NOT the Be-All End-All of blog marketing success.

If you’re a writer, to start a home for your voice on the web, and begin nurturing an audience, for any future intention you may have — including financial compensation for what you have to share — you essentially need three things to power a business with a blog:

  • 1. A blog with a serious plan — one that features a critical awareness of Subscriber-based List Building
  • 2. A professional service — even if you’re not sure what your potential service might be, trust me, if you can create all this instructional content, there is a private, client service lurking within your teaching
  • 3. Your own information products/ passive income streams — original self-published material you can sell in the form of ebooks, print-on-demand traditional books, or some other form of content, such as downloadable audio files
