Image Contributions
Attention: Artists & Photographers - My Image Wishlist
At the top of my list right now, I’m looking for original images of:
- The Goddess Kali
- The Blessed Virgin, Ascended Master Mother Mary
I’m looking for photographers & illustrators who would like to contribute original images in exchange for links and exposure.
The images used on this site are either:
- original photos taken by the author | publisher Eric Slade Roberson
- original graphic illustrations, altered photographs, or collages created by the author | publisher Eric Slade Roberson
- or, as is mostly the case, they are royalty-free, Creative Commons, public domain images submitted by digital artists from all over the world.
My current, preferred primary source for images is Morguefile.com.
With so many talented photographers and illustrators contributing their time, effort, and unique personal vision to the Collective Creative Media, I am proud to use their work wherever I can. It is my sincere goal to contact and credit all the artists whom I have “drafted” to collaborate with me in creating the material on this site.
I’d very much like for them to know, and to reward them in this Economy of Attention with a link to their own web spaces, portfolios, blogs, etc… in exchange for my using their images to enrich my Sladespace.
Most of the images I discover posted and up-for-adoption on Morguefile bear the humble request “Please let me know where my little pixel puppies end up!” Or something to that effect.
So, I whole-heartedly welcome your comments — or
- Post a comment
- or email me contact[at]sladeroberson.com
and I will be delighted to give credit where credit is due — to add your name and a link back to the space you personally maintain.
The best way for me to maintain a page of image credits is through the SYS Lightbox on Morguefile.
If for some reason you are unhappy with my use or alteration of your images, or if I have unknowingly violated your intentions in making the material available, please let me know and I can remove them from this site.
My Goals for Photographic Content on this site
I would ultimately like to feature at least one original illustration or photograph per post/page on this site. If you find a naked spot and would like to create or contribute an original image of your own — or if you have a perfect pic you know I should see — please by all means, let me know. Let me see it. Send it on!

Here’s what I definitely don’t want:
To be quite blunt, I am generally disappointed in the quality of “new age” and neo-pagan graphics. New Age publications have a bad reputation for being cheesy, kooky, sickeningly sweet, flaky, etc. You know what I mean — one too many airbrushed dolphins cruising through tropical skies studded with extra moons while AmazoMartian cyberpriestesses with gravity-defying, gargantuan mams engage in telepathic orgies with lesbian mer-barbies while — Look! just over there! Glanced through the parting mists of Avalon — giggling, waifish kiddie-porn flower fairies frolic beneath the hooves of unicorns prancing in slow-motion…
I tell you, I can’t take it…
And if I see one more cartoonish pentagram gif flashing at me from field of glitter-dusted cosmic background tiles — with all-center-aligned, all-cap text screaming between impenetrable gates of exclamation points — obnoxiously sliced and squeezed into raped html tables — with a geocities url and screen-hogging landmines of Google ads and scraped blog content — and, God HELP ME, some psycho-midi princess jukebox music and no way to turn it off — Mary, I just may lose my f’ing MIND…k?
Sorry. Shaking it off…Shift back to the Half-full Glass with me.
Seriously, now
If you browse the categories, topics, and articles on this site, you can probably get a feel for the subject matter that interests me. Spiritual topics are often simply intangible, certainly hard to translate into words… I welcome contributions that can meet the challenge of synthesizing and effectively communicating a world of dualistic, sometimes flat-out contradictory concepts:
- invisible | visual
- serious | humorous
- abstract | specific
- mysterious | illuminated
- magical | mundane
- common | extraordinary
Help me show what is sometimes difficult to even imagine. Help me manifest an intelligent, provocative, inspiring, exciting, eclectic new vocabulary for this new age of spiritual conversation.
