Paper Money Airplane

Image - Money Paper AirplaneLast week, while sitting outside in the finally-Fall breeze and sunshine, reading over entries in my Abundance Transformation diary Hornets & Honey Bees, a gigantic paper airplane fell out of the sky and landed neatly at my feet.

Of course, it startled me, and my immediate reaction was to look up and about to see where it had come from — I expected to see some laughing kids on a balcony nearby. I anticipated other café patrons at the adjacent patio tables looking over at me with bemused expressions on their faces — but no one else seemed to have noticed that a 14-inch long facsimile of a $100 bank note had just been shot down over the Stone Cup.

I squinted into the sky, wondering if I might see a squadron of bills in formation, flying south for the winter from New York or Washington, D.C. If this story was intended to be fiction, in the genre of magical realism, I’d claim that a plastic CEO action figure in painted-on pinstripes soon followed, floating down on a coffee-filter parachute spray-painted gold. (For the record, I would not have felt compelled to rescue his ass.)

My life isn’t quite that whimsical (though I suspect Wall Street might be). But as you know, I do walk around in a manifested existence somewhat (sometimes) like a virtual reality game.

Birds deliver messages to me, as do trees.
I find feathers on the floorboard of my car far too often to be accidents.
The prayers of my friend Seth, a collector of cobalt bottles, arrive in various forms of blue glass trinkets dropped along my path.
Ghosts leave pennies near doorways in the houses and apartments I move into.
Strangers regularly email me answers to the questions I’ve asked while talking to my spirit guides.

Hornets & Honey Bees : How I Married New Money is really more a wedding scrapbook that an active ledger. I haven’t touched the diary since soon after the Honeymoon, but I’ve had intentions of sharing an update about the success of my Money Makeover — and I started receiving reading requests last week from a few people responding to the fear-peddling “news” of Market Meltdown.

I decided to sit in contemplation of Collective Abundance, looking for any useful insights within my personal experience that I might share. I find it fascinating that financial markets are an absolute manifestation of ephemeral, abstract, collective thoughts — fears, beliefs, emotions. Many of the same people who are terrified that they will “lose” their financial power, and are ruled by fears about money, probably don’t even believe in the Law of Attraction.

They doubt that their vibes can literally transform their lives for the better, yet they never question for a moment that just their “thoughts” of a crash can create that reality. If you’re going to believe in the shadow side of this power, why wouldn’t you choose to have faith in the light? You can’t have yin without yang – what kind of pessimistic madness is that?

I kept returning to something I heard Dr. Wayne Dyer say about how he simply doesn’t participate in that Collective Channel of Fear. I realized that Morgana’s Financial Alechemy is about shifting that awareness at the personal level, so that you have your own customized authentic relationship to replace the shabby hand-me-down that was invented and used by other people before it was foisted on you.

The most effective way I’ve found to change that channel when it seems the world has stolen the remote from me is to engage in some small action within the mindsetfrom the interior space — that represents the Abundantly Blessed Me and my new Honey.

Who are you when you become the person you wish to be? What thoughts does The Powerful You think? What interior dialogues do you engage in? How does the conversation change? What kinds of decisions do you make and how do you make them differently? How does That Greater You ACT?

You can’t catch $100 bills that fall out of the sky while clutching two fistfuls of pennies, afraid to let them go.

How to Shift Your Spirits Regarding Money

Here are some of the “little” ways I practice Big-Time Abundance that you may certainly copy, borrow, or adapt to raise your vibration:

Leave a donation for a blogger you really like. I can assure you that any amount, even a small one, will have an enormous emotional impact on the recipient.

Make a donation to a charity. I know a place where you can spend $10, right now, that will make you feel like a freaking bazillionaire on an energetic level.

NothingButNets.net
I am absolutely in love with this movement — the elegant simplicity of this concept, inspired by a child’s response to a news story that a human being dies every 30 seconds from malaria — a tragedy that is entirely preventable by a cheap mosquito bed net. “We should send them nets.”

For every consultation or reading that my clients purchase, I will send a net. I’ve been doing this for the last month and it is literally one of the best highs I think I’ve ever experienced. I am addicted to sending $10 nets!

Buy a small treat for someone. I like to buy a coffee for the person in line behind me at the café once in awhile. You’d be surprised how powerful the gesture can be!

Hire someone who’s self-employed, has a new business, and is passionate about the services they offer. You both benefit. Even helping to promote someone you believe in, through social media/networking sites like StumbleUpon, or making recommendations to friends and colleagues is an incredible way to share abundance.

Invest in your own financial self-care by taking a class or participating in a group that supports shared goals. My friend, self-employment coach Tom Volkar of DelightfulWork.com is leading a Five Day Business Discovery Group. Click here to view more details

If you are self-employed or have your own business, give away a copy of one of your products. I adore having downloads for sale on line because it is so easy to gift a piece of what I have to offer, in a matter of seconds, when I feel called to do so!

Move pennies from the ground to collection cups. I used to pass by pennies on the ground thinking “I don’t need a penny” until a psychic told me that, just like a $100 bill, the pennies are a symbolic gift of abundance from your guides and that to refuse to pick them up because they are too “small” is snubbing the Universe. If you find a penny, then the penny is for you to find, not to be left for someone else. If someone else needs it more than you, then do your part to pay it forward by physically placing it where it may better serve the world than a crack in the sidewalk.

Show the Universe how you behave as a steward of abundance by the way in which you handle small change. How you handle one penny, or one dollar, is an indication of how you may handle greater sums. I think there may also be a connection here with throwing pennies into wishing wells…

Use your attention, your effort, your time as a form of currency. If you are struggling with finances and feel you can’t possibly afford to spend a penny, your attention is a form of currency. Organize your financial paperwork, balance your check book, or throw away old receipts you don’t need to hang onto. Even simple housekeeping that clears your environment of clutter creates energetic space for newer, bigger, and better things.

Go “shopping” for free facts. Anxiety comes from a lack of actionable intelligence. Do a little online research regarding finances and empower yourself with financial information. Or gather inspiration for a new creative project.

Share the wealth of your wisdom
Do you have any simple acts of abundance you’d like to contribute here?

Back to the paper money airplane — my digital camera is kaput, so I had to snap a picture with my phone. I had to show it to you and share this story, because I really haven’t arrived at a meaningful conclusion. This post represents some of thoughts I had just prior to the plane’s arrival. I’d love to know how you interpret this sign I received.

What do you think my paper money airplane means?

    Slade,

My first impression(s) of the paper money airplane are:

You were the ‘intended’ recipient, for someone else might have dismissed significance, only viewed it as a joke or maybe could see the irony, but nothing more.

The oversized money represented the inflationary nature of this week’s news.

‘Money’ being in flight was a direct reflection of the incredible energy of flight, the freedom of soaring, and in this case nothing more than wind powered energy, which is more indication of free.

There was some irreverence and disappointment by the sender, seeing his MONEY take flight, just that easily.

The toy airplane was the indicator of how often we are reminded that government, big business, does move money around, or create paper bills with nothing to back the circulation, as if it were no more important than a very fragile, disposable toy.

It also then spoke of the way one teaches a child to make paper airplanes as a toy to share and give away in quantity. If you sail this one, you can always make another, with nothing more than a scrap of paper and your time spent.

That’s what I got, a lot of it just from the visual of seeing the photo.

    Hi again Slade,

This time a story about you, pennies and a purpose.

A few weeks ago when you invited me to your class, you sent along pre-class instructions. To select an item, a physical reminder, preferably something easy to carry around, that would be activated in class with the intention of aiding each of us to recall what we would learn and then utilize. Being able to communicate with one’s spirit guides at any time.

I knew immediately I wanted a key for my keyring and I knew what kind of key. An old roller skate key. I have one, I loved my skates as a kid, the teeth jarring experience of skating in the very uneven alley. I started searching for it in my house, since I hadn’t seen it in years. No luck. I hid it too well.

I went out the next evening. When I got home, it was really dark, it had rained all day, was still cloudy. I parked under a tree, so even darker. As I locked the car, I stood in the middle of the street and I looked down. I heard water still draining into the sewer. Teetering at the very edge of the U shaped opening, I saw ‘it’. The very dull penny I’d have to pick up oh so gingerly, since it could just as easily fall in as I tried. That would be the item I had activated to carry around with me.

I knew it had to be a mini-miracle. Me? Seeing a dull penny 10 feet away, in the dark, on top of a sewer cover? And it was face down, no less, a penny I never would have picked up as a kid based on that bad luck superstition stuff alone.

    Numbers, again? 100 = 1 = ONE = WON

    And, wow, this is WON-DER-FUL.

    Hi Slade,

I’m not sure if this makes any sense to you, but I’ll give it a shot. :)

I see the paper plane as a representation of light-heartedness, joy and going with the flow. Abundance sits on its wings and has chosen you as its destination. However, as with all paper planes, you can only keep its energies flowing by throwing it to the wind again and see where it will land next. In the spirit of giving and appreciation that fills this post, I’d say you have already thrown that metaphorical paper plane to the wind and spread the joy. With each appreciative or giving action that we take, we are recognizing that joy and we are creating more metaphorical paper planes of abundance and throwing them to the wind, hoping others will catch them and feel that joy as well.

Someday soon, when there are more than enough metaphorical paper money planes going around, I’m sure at least some of them will land back on your feet again. There is truly enough abundance to go around. LIke you said, “You can’t catch $100 bills that fall out of the sky while clutching two fistfuls of pennies, afraid to let them go.” Perhaps we all need to learn how to let go, to give, to throw that paper plane to the wind and share that joy, before we can truly appreciate the magic of abundance. :)

I love what you had to say about people being focused right now on the collective fear. My husband and I have been shrugging off the news and when people try to talk to us about it we have both been saying “well then I guess I’ll just have to make more money” as if it’s not a problem. Because for us it isn’t. We gave up the separation of money and spirit several years ago and we haven’t had to worry about money since. When we need it we have it. Simple as that. It just comes, kind of like a money airplane from heaven ;-)

I know what you mean about feeling wealthy energetically. I get a great lift from making small business loans to micro-entrepreneurs in third world countries through http://www.kiva.org/.

This post is a wonderful reminder to chose where we focus our attention especially in light of all the fear-based news these days.

You bring up an excellent point about folks who admit the affect of their bad vibes on the market but remain closed to looking at deliberate creation. Confounding!

Thanks for the mention of my program Slade. I appreciate it.

Why do we always try to make our messages from Spirit so complicated. The most obvious message is that money will come flying your way with little or no effort on your part. The Universe supplies what we need. I love the way you shared this message with us. Thanks.

How do you do it? It’s like you have my place bugged or something:) I was just telling my husband we both need to sit down together this evening to get a ‘game plan’ together to start really manifesting. This decision came as a direct result of all the chicken littles that are running around and talking about the bleak economy. I’m not condoning putting my head in the sand but I’m just putting my foot down and refusing to let this crappy news throw me and my quest for abundance off track. A nice perk is the new moon coming up which is a great time to be doing this.

I am amazed at the money airplane that came your way.
Paper airplanes can end up anywhere, have absolutely no definite ‘pattern’ to how they fly- or how long they stay in the air- and end up wherever. I think it’s symbolic of how we get what we want (not just money- anything we ‘wish’ for) but we need to remember it will show up but sometimes may not ‘land’ in our lives exactly at the time we expected. Like paper airplanes manifesting should be lighthearted and fun and done with a spirit of awe- because the minute we stop having fun with it the whole thing craps out and just doesn’t work.
I hope you saved the plane as a reminder for yourself :)

One tip that stuck with me (in an interview with Joe Vitale, who literally had no money and created abundance bit by bit) is kind of what you hit upon. If we clench our fists thinking ‘oh, I can’t donate - I barely have money myself’ then you won’t attract money to be ‘donated’ to you, or rather money will not flow your way. People who say ‘Oh, that’s a great cause but I’ll give when I have more money’ miss the point.

As always I think gratitude sets the stage for money to flow as well. In fact, when I emailed you a question once I mentioned my laptop that I made a snarky remark about - it acts up a bit and can frustrate me to no end. And a comment you made about yours was that is was at least a trusty one and you didn’t know what you’d do without it. Then it hit me- here I was, I had a laptop and I was not appreciating it. Sure, so what I have to reboot it more that I would like- it allows me to have tons of information at my disposal. I can keep in touch with friends so easily using this and well, it’s been pretty good to me. Instead of bemoaning my ‘crappy’ laptop (and how much I want a Mac) I need to appreciate what I have, right now. Without that attitude why would the Universe be motivated to provide me with yet MORE things for me to not appreciate and bitch about? Where is the fun in that? It’s like giving a brat presents and hearing them complain 2 hours later they are ‘bored’ … would be be eager to run out and get them presents the next time a birthday or Christmas rolled around? Yeah, probably not. So thanks, Slade:) Bet you didn’t even know that one comment had such an effect, huh?

I love your pick a penny up suggestion. I am guilty of blowing them off because I cannot be bothered, lazy as I can be. All this time I am blowing off the Universe! No more. Watch, I’ll start finding them now. Right now I get the feathers in my path and that actually makes my day when I keep seeing them. It’s like a wink from my guides.

I have a friend who is having a hard time right now so I just sent her a gift I got from an artist featured on etsy. She has no idea it’s on the way but I know she’ll feel happy and like a friend from home remembers her and I’m hoping it’ll cheer her up. I know it’s made me very happy to send it. And I LOVE the random act of free coffee thing. I’m going to try it! It’s little things like that that have the butterfly effect. Imagine if we could follow the person we did the small act of kindness for to see how it buoyed them and made them respond in kind to the next person they encountered. Or imagine them recounting their day when they go home “I had the most amazing thing happen to me today….” just knowing how infectious it can be is enough motivation. The fact that the energy is returned to you in kind is just an extra.

Anyway thanks for the article yet again. It really motivated me and I’m going to share it with my husband later tonight. It’ll be fun to read the comments about this one in particular, too.

Hey Slade, Cool post, my friend. You know, I used to do something REALLY stupid with small change: I used to throw it away. I would toss a few pennies into the trash if that is what I was handed. And guess what? I lost a TON of money during that period of my life!!! LOL. I totally get it now.

And yes, these days I don’t behave so foolishly. I give most of my change to my kiddo. He thinks a handful of pennies is a gift from heaven.

  11. Jodi on September 28th, 2008 7:40 pm

Wow, it sounds like you’re very connected to the Divine Temple of Abundance.
When money is raining down from heaven, we all need to give thanks.
And if we can’t give in a monetary way, give a smile which would uplift someone more than any amount of money ever will.
    Thanks Slade

  12. Azra on September 28th, 2008 8:08 pm

When I read those first few paragraphs, two things came to mind. First, the word ‘transformation’ (I heard in my head like a character from one of those old sci-fi B-movies: “TRANSSSS-for-MAY-shunnnn….” :) ) and a line from a REO Speedwagon song: “Time for me to fly.”

So…what have you done for yourself lately? Yes, it’s great to do all this wonderful stuff for other folks but have you just taken a even a small bit of money and time for yourself and just *played*? After all, if you’ll pardon the strange metaphor, what good is a well if it’s always being emptied?

  13. Andrea Hess|Empowered Soul on September 28th, 2008 8:09 pm

I’m for the simple interpretation, too - money can come flying into your life, playfully, joyfully - like a big wink from the Universe.

Bad economy? Really? I am completely unplugged from the news - it’s an amazing way to unplug from fear. Seriously - I recommend a news fast for at least two weeks. You’ll realize that if something that really affects you happens, you’ll know about it. And your reality will be a much happier place. I get my news from the podcast of “Wait, wait don’t tell me” on NPR, once a week. That’s it!

    Blessings,
    Andrea

    Hi Slade,
    This is a Hot blog!
‘Be willing to accept More than you are asking for’.

  15. Katherine Aldridge on September 28th, 2008 8:57 pm

    Hi Slade,

Another wonderful and timely blog. What incredible symbolism…

To me, the paper airplane was just the perception of abundance and how easily the physical, ephemeral abundance can fly away. Easy come, easy go. This is especially so when we don’t know where it came from and can’t predict where it will go. We need to rely on our inner wisdom and then the issues of coming and going are exercises in meaninglessness. Our inner guidance will lead us. The only meanings symbols have are the ones we give them. Just my take on it.

Like spirituality, abundance and security are inside jobs. If outward abundant experience is necessary, inner security is not possible. If inner security exists, outward abundant experience is not required.

For you… allow me to suggest that because of your work on behalf of humanity, that spirit will take care of you and whatever your needs are. The giving of the nets, your readings, your blogging are gifts which will return to you over and over. It is not the $10, but your gift of spirit. We call money currency the same way we call measures of electricity “current.” What is the energy of love and compassion worth? It is priceless! It can’t be bought or sold, held on to or traded. Currency (money) is like electricity. It is without value until we use it. We can have the largest electric plant in the world, but the electricity itself is without value until we use it. We have to use the electricity to light the light bulb to receive the value. The same thing is true for the nets and other ways you/we serve.

Thanks so much for sharing. I always love to hear from you. Sending you lots of love, joy and laughter…lots of laughter. Feel good. Your divine soul and it’s purposes are more valuable and precious than gold. You are abundant!

    Blessings,
    Katherine

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and hence clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

    Slade,

One of my favorite visualizations regarding money is that of myself folding $100 bills (real ones) into paper airplanes and then flying them — anonymously! — off a balcony into a crowd. Not as an ego trip. Not as a symbol of waste, like “I have money to burn.” But as a statement of sharing the wealth, letting the money randomly fall where it needs to fall, to the person it is supposed to fall to.

Seriously, I visualize this moment in great detail as an “attraction” exercise. It is quite liberating to “feel” yourself giving away money, and whenever I actually give to a charity I always trick my mind into believing I am giving away those $100 bills, even if I am only actually giving $10.

I think your paper airplane was a great big thumbs up telling you that your thinking for today’s post was right on track. Your Guides have a way of telling you exactly what we need to hear every week, & I love them for it! ;-)

Oh, regarding the pennies — is it just me or does anyone else notice that the more pennies you pick up, the more pennies are thrown in your path? Whenever I pick up one (which is every time I see one!), I always find a slew more. One time, as a kid, I picked up at least 25 pennies in one week, and then found a $5 bill at the end of that week! Awesome! I distinctly remember that I spent $2 of it on licorice candy — which isn’t my favorite — for my sister & I to share, because it’s her favorite, and I put the rest in my piggy bank, which she borrowed from frequently. Guess what happened? I had more money in my piggy bank than my sister (despite her frequent loans)! And I kept finding small change everywhere. My family started calling me The Good Luck Kid with all the change I found.

…I’ve lost a little bit of that “luck” with money flowing freely to me. This post just reminded me of that time of my life, and it has me thinking I am going to start leaving dimes & maybe even quarters in public places — so long as I can do it anonymously.

    Love & Light,
    Jewels

Slade, I don’t have any interpretation for you today. Just a big old pile of hugs. :-) I loved this post; and I hope you’re doing great!

well slade…you answered your own question…..you have let go those fistfuls of pennies, you started donating the money for the nets….it is a sign, that you have made it in your own efforts….

i’d like to think someone read your blog and was practicing your random acts of kindness….but your sign appears to be more a recognition from spirit for your own successful evolution…

or perhaps the wings on the airplane are the nudge you needed to give “wings” to your thoughts of sharing wealth, and transforming your own methods of achieving abundance…by sharing your thoughts and experiences with us….

or, did you happen to donate 10 nets since you began?

    yay slade!!

  20. Kaysie on September 30th, 2008 2:51 am

    Hey Slade!

This blog came at just the right time (as always). I have noticed for the past year that whenever our family really needs money it comes right when we need it. This has definitely assisted in helping me see that the Universe will provide in one way or another. Usually it is when we have exhausted all imagined options and something which is out of our control works itself out so that we are taken care of. This week I was wondering what ways I could give back or pay it forward (our family right now is one of those “can’t possibly afford to spend a penny”) and your list of ideas is just what I needed!

    Thanks again.

  21. ginger on September 30th, 2008 5:26 am

I have been working on manifesting the ‘Things’ that I need for quite a while. There are no rules as to how or where these things will appear.
Saturday, I spent 3 hours online comparison shopping for a convection oven. I really need one with my small kitchen, which has half my pots & pans stored in the conventional oven. So, today (monday), I went to the grocery store and popped into the Good Will across the street around 6pm. They were just putting out new stuff and Low & Behold! There was My New Convection Oven! $10! It had never been used as far as I could see… No food splatter, scratches or dents. It Still just always Surprises me the way things come!
    I am really Very Thankful!

    Barbara,

Thank you for this thoughtful interpretation. You’ve articulated many things that resonate with me as true.

    Ginger,

Manna is such a great word, isn’t it?
    :-)

    Barbara,

What a great story! I love hearing about this intersection of the class and some of my posts. That’s awesome, thank you for sharing it.

    Jody,

Your take on the numerology is unique among the interpretations I’ve received. Very cool.

    Irene,

I can definitely relate to the joyful aspect you describe. I associated the sign with great humor, whimsy, absurdity, and light-heartedness.

    Melissa,

Last week I was hit with a surprise $1000 medical deductible that I had not foreseen. When I was telling my Mama about having to fork that over, of course she responded with an anxious “Oh no! What will you do?”

My response was simply “Make some more!”
    :-)

    Tom,

You are a mind reader! Did you know I had originally intended to include kiva.org in this post, as it was my favorite for the last year. But then I fell in love with NothingButNets? Thank you so much for including it here — it absolutely belongs. I hope others will check that out as well.

    Patricia,

Isn’t it fascinating though to see all the ways different people interpret the symbolism? All the comments display such a rich diversity of details, yet they are all true.

    Sabine,

I’d have to give credit to the fact that we are all tuned in to many of the same channels. When you feel like I’ve got your house “bugged” then that’s a great confirmation for me that I’m acting as a vessel.

The gift you sent your friend will no doubt be priceless to her.

    Tom,

It occurs to me that a child’s perception of the value of money (maybe children younger than your son) is perhaps an energetic quality to emulate. He is likely the perfect person to elevate the conceptual value of that small change.

    Jodi,

What’s the saying about a smile’s being free?
    :-)
A smile — or even acknowledging someone, making eye contact, asking How are you? And meaning it… We can always afford to pay attention.

    Azra,

I’m spending a week in Hawaii at the beginning of November. Part work/ part play — my favorite way to experience life. How’s that for filling my well?
    :-)

PS — I seriously dig those faerie-tomato paintings on your link — those would be excellent in a witchy-poo kitchen or breakfast nook or a cafe. (My concept of a dream kitchen looks like something stolen from a Harry Potter set.) Everyone should click on your name above and check out your artwork.

    Andrea,

I recommend media-blackouts and news breaks (in the literal sense) for anyone who feels embattled by information overload. It’s a fine line to walk, between disconnecting and connecting — I’ve taken it to the extreme of absolutely zero television or news of any kind for as long as 4 years! You’re right, you don’t really miss as much as you think you’d might. That was in response to an increase in my intuition where I was not yet equipped to manage the proper level of disconnection and non-attachment. I’ve since brought my participation back in a healthier balance.

If I had to pick one source for news, it would be fundits — Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Joy Behar, Bill Maher — The Daily Show is an excellent source of the exact same news cycle, blessedly wrapped in the humor that only comedians can offer. I would definitely include “Wait, wait…” in that group.

    Ginger,

Be willing to accept more than you are asking for. Terrific! I just heard a lot of light bulbs going on out there with that one!

    Katherine,

Abundance and security are inside jobs. The comparison to electricity is a great insight as well. Thank you for your blessings.

    Julie J,

I wonder if a physical, literal exercise of your visualization is exactly how this airplane came to me. That someone was literally acting out what you describe.

This is off the subject, but I wonder if anyone has ever found one of the notes that people attach to balloons — as in memorial services or manifesting exercises. When I was a kid, I loved to create messages and put them in bottles, make my own mini time capsules or boxes of treasure which I buried just for the sake of someone having the experience of finding it.

I’ve more recently slipped anonymous messages between the pages of books that I particularly love (in book stores). What’s that web site where you actually tag, leave, and track books themselves online? Anyone know what I’m talking about?

    Jeff,

Thank you! Did you send your hugs in the form of a new stray kitten I’m now feeding? He has some Tolkien-esque vibe I can’t put into words here. I can’t wait to talk to you and discuss possible Names for this little guy…

    Susan,

You know, I never thought about how many nets I’ve donated so far and if they correspond… Hmm… I’ll check and see how those numbers match up. And your comment puts a whole new spin on the phrase net worth!

    Kaysie,

I can totally relate to that moment of Surrender — I can think of so many situations where once you “give up” controlling it, it works itself out. The thing that I take away most about those experiences is realizing that if they are going to work themselves out, outside my ability to control them, then why not just skip the trying to control part next time because it may be unnecessary and exhausting.

    Ginger,

The thrift-store guides have smiled on you! Love it when that happens.

[...] I was jarred back to an abundant reality by reading Slade Roberson’s excellent post, Paper Money Airplane. [...]

It must be synchronicity. I’ve been thinking about ways to raise my vibration when it comes to giving and receiving abundance. I sometimes get stuck in this pattern that what I have to offer is not good enough. That I don’t have enough experience, or some other lame excuse. Just giving yourself freely to the universe and in service of others is enough. And it’s beautiful.

Thanks for sharing this Slade, it really made my day.

I stumbled this to send a little abundance your way.

    Jonathan,

As you look for forms of abundance, definitely take a look at all those things that don’t have $ signs attach to them, or express energy, value, attention, intention in a variety of formats.

If you’re just counting the change in the coach and look at your bank account balance, you can overlook so many of the ways in which you are rich.

Thanks for the Stumble — in the Economy of Attention, that is a very valuable act on your part and I’m very grateful to receive it.

I keep seeing the number 32 EVERYWHERE……anyone know what this could mean???

    Joanna,

    Here’s a thought:

    3 = c
    2= b

Which leaves CB = citizen band (radio)

We’re meant to band together. (And a radio transmission always reminds me of hearing from the angels.)

Slade, sorry it’s been a while since I’ve stopped by! I’m starting to have some free time now, and I’m back! How’s things with you?

I used to drop donations to charities a lot. My local restaurant has a box at the counter, and I just throw the change in there whenever I order. I got a lot of donations for my blog. Recently I just stopped, because I needed the change for the parking meters, and noticed I haven’t gotten any donations for my blog for weeks. Heh.

    Slade,
A friend of mine told me a great story the other day that reminds me of your dollar bill…He passed a man at 7-eleven asking for change. My friend said he had a “feeling” about the guy….he handed him a 20$ bill. When the guy saw it, his eyes widened, he looked pretty shocked. My friend asked for the money back & the guy looked crestfallen of course. My friend said, I’m not going to take it back, I just want to show you something! So he takes the bill & points out to the guy what’s printed on the bottom of every bill… “in God we Trust”. The man got tears in his eyes. I love that story & think it parallels yours, that Divinity, Spirit, God, whatever you choose to call it, sends when we trust.
I have a story of my own I’d like to share. I live near the A.R.E. (Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research & Enlightenment in Va. Beach) Since I’m not working I hang out there a bit. I only had 2 dollars left today & was worried about food & gas. I walked into the A.R.E. and was going to ask the volunteer (a friend) a question & overheard him saying he could send a taxi …some ladies had not realized how far the Center was from their hotel & were stuck in between & wanted my friend to call them a taxi. I had a feeling that it might take awhile, plus it was fairly close…in a car at least. I interrupted & said that if they liked I’d go fetch them. I went down to get them & was glad that I did, one of the ladies had a bad knee! Well, we get to the A.R.E & one of them insisted on giving me 15$. I demurred for a bit then realized that the Universe was speaking pretty loudly & said Thank You! To the ladies and the Universe!
    Thanks!

Thank you for enlightening me about shifting our spirits regarding money. After reading what you wrote about “Move pennies from the ground to collection cups”, i also realized that I used to pass by pennies on the ground thinking “I don’t need a penny”, too. I now realized that even if don’t need the penny, I should still pick it up and be a medium to those in need of that penny. Thank you for the great post, so inspiring.
