Time has a way of handling itself. Things have a way of working out as exactly as they will.
You are always ultimately in the right place at the right time regardless of your perspective in any given moment.
Synchronicity and serendipity do not require your nagging directions and instructions… it’s called divine timing for a reason. It’s not really “divine” if you’re trying to control it.
Trust that the Universe is probably not all that enhanced or improved by your manic attempts at micromanagement.
Your personal will is a powerful thing. Mantras, mind sets, good attitudes and right actions are important; but part of what makes the magic in all of it so apparent is that you are not required to DO everything.
If you’re always inevitably in the right place and time, and you can’t miss that which is destined for you, and you’re doing your courageous best to identify and change the things that you can… then the only thing you really have left to do to ensure the magic is to choose to be okay with where you are right now.
Rainmaking, making things happen, moving heaven and earth… it’s all a lot of Work for a mortal to be taking on. Especially when the True Miracle will still best be seen when you’re floating like a leaf on a stream.

I’ll be having this tattooed on the inside of my eyelids now.
Brieta,
That’s quite a compliment!
Hi Slade,
So true. If we listen to our hearts we will be in the right place at the right time. No sense getting our panties in a bunch and worrying over things. Just enjoy your life and do what you need and want to do…..and you’ll get there.
I love the metaphor of being like like a leaf floating on a stream Slade!
Thanks so much for this lovely post. I needed it today.
Angela,
You’re very welcome! Indeed I hoped that it might be a timely message for someone out there, on many levels.
Slade,
I absolutely LOVE hearing your insights and having you in my experience! You say just the perfect thing at the perfect time. I hope your day will be as lovely as mine surely will be after receiving your post for today. I’m floating on my stream now, just relaxing and enjoying the ride. All my love to you.
Marian,
I can guarantee you that a comment like yours absolutely ensures that my day is lovely.
Thanks for the encouragement! It means a lot…
Slade,
So happy to be reading your writing again!
I can’t help but think your post is some *synchronicity* for me…after all my sister was explaining to me yesterday the difference in the Greek words for time, “chronos”-chronological time, the common meaning of time, and “kairos” – God’s time/synchronistic time/”all in it’s own good time” time….I guess I am supposed to be LISTENING to this message….
Thanks! Here’s to letting time take care of itself…
Kara
Thanks Kara!
Synchronicity upon synchronicity… multiple sources… sounds significant to me, too.
So, assuming this is an Answer for you, you can “retro-engineer” the Full Message with the Question “What have I been asking?”
Hmmm…thanks Slade. Your comment is bending my mind a little (who am I kidding – alot)….
The answer I think I’m getting to the “big” question I’ve been asking for the last several months is: Now! Now is the time for it to happen…Now is finally God’s time…(the funniest thing is I believe you advised me of this in a reading you did for me in Jan 2010)
Also every time I have turned on the radio the last two days, the songs playing always have the word “magic” in the title or the lyrics…
Yay! I think it is finally happening…
Kara
Thank you, again. More than a few of your posts hit the nail on the head (mine) and help me to lighten the load. This one; short, sweet, and absolutely perfect. A dear friend of mine said the same thing to me not two days ago! I don’t need to do it all. Time….let it flow:)
Kathy,
Your comment just brought up a very old Breeders’ song called “Divine Hammer.” (I don’t think it has anything to do with having your nail hit on the head… but it’s a very summery fun song… I digress…)
Seriously — the synchronicity of your dear friend delivering the same message to you — I call that a Sign and encourage you to act accordingly!
Hi Slade
I love this one Slade…
That’s your best one
I use my free hands to applaud
(Showers on miracles on their way)
Love
Patrice
Patrice,
Really?! Best one? Cool, thanks for weighing in, helps me feel my way in the direction I’m meant to take everyone.
I agree with you, Slade! Although I sometimes talk to people for whom the term “All in Divine Timing!” has become a euphemism for “Sit and wait until things change of their own accord while I do what I’ve always done.”
Divine Timing responds to decisive action that powerfully declares our intention to the Universe …
Leaves in a stream, yes. We still have to pick a stream and jump in.
Love this!
Blessings,
Andrea
Andrea,
Patience loses its virtue when it’s used as an excuse.
There is no lack of exposure to the Action + Intention message, surely. Whether or not anyone actually USES it is entirely out of the control of the messenger, of course. Let’s assume that I am speaking to an audience of people who have heard the Action + Intention Message. Over and over. And Over. Again. I’m specifically not repeating that wisdom…
This is for those who have courageously acted to change the things that they can, those who are seeking the peace of accepting the things that they cannot, and need to be reminded of that it’s okay to stand back at this point and let the Universe meet you at least half-way.
I’ll join the synchronicity club here.
It’s really really hard to keep this perspective when it looks like everything you want, everything you’ve worked so hard for is slipping from right around the corner into a distant, vague future.
Sometimes, all you need to do is let your life unfold by itself. But the flipside of the lesson is also important: If you never take decisions, never make changes, they will end up being taken and made for you. Often, there is at least _something_ you can do to change your circumstances for the better.
Vitor,
The Serenity Prayer is super famous for exactly the discernment issue of which you speak.
Slade,
I loved this post! I found you through a comment you left on SonyaSidky.com (she’s a friend of mine)… and I’m so glad I did! (Love your tagline, by the way!)
I had a good friend once tell me that it’s not about TIME (having enough, being on time, etc) it’s about TIMING. Just letting time unfold and believing that you’ll always be in the right place at the right time, exactly as you said!
I needed the reminder!
I’ve been learning these concepts on some really long kayak trips this summer too. Like when do you accept the weather you’re in and when do you try to change it? When do you accept what direction the current of the river is taking you and when do you straighten yourself out? Staying in the flow is faster, but you won’t be able to precisely control the direction you’re going — the current may push you left or right. But to follow a precise path in a strong current is really tough — you can do it, but you’ll be exhausted and it will take longer. I think there are some neat analogies for life there!
Love what you’re doing!
Thanks, Teresa!
“It’s not about Time, it’s about Timing.” Love the bumper-sticker version. (Maybe this could be what Brieta tattoos on her eyelids – ha!)
Oh, sure, bring me into the discussion on a morning that finds me in the mood to shake my fist at Timing.
