JOHN MICHAEL: Have you ever been so tangled in the trap of wanting to pick the absolute perfect path (whatever that is) that you're paralyzed into not choosing anything at all, thus creating an endless loop of lose-lose situations?
This learning-to-trust-our-choices business is hard...and illuminating.
SLADE: Maybe the "trick" is to think of your choices as less of a linear path, like some Disneyland-ride, with one direction and no options, and visualize it as more of a forest full of things to harvest.
Just start grabbing shit — off the ground, out of the underbrush, from low-hanging branches...
Who says you can’t turn around, come back, go off trail...?
